mkm GmbH – Manufaktur für Geniesser, founded in 2004 by Markus and Michael Kühlwein and located in the Middle Franconian town of Burghaslach , is a paragon of entrepreneurial spirit and innovation in the tradition of a Franconian family devoted to quality. Originally a two-man company, it reached a prominent position in the premium sector of high quality chocolates in no time at all. The business was erected on the cornerstone of a family tradition of producing gingerbread and confectionery that goes as far back as 1613.
momami chocolates go through a number of artisanal processing stages. For all of momami chocolate creations they exclusively use selected raw materials and only the finest ingredients from the world’s best cultivation areas and process them with the greatest of care. This way, mkm can guarantee lasting freshness and finest quality for all their products. The traditional conche processing procedure gives the momami chocolates their fine flavour and mellifluous character.
Every single one of mkm’s creations is a tiny artificial composition in itself and it embodies in more than 20 countries by now the vision that the Kühlwein brothers had in mind when they first set up their business – to combine and newly interpret the art of making high quality chocolates with the originality and the diversity of chocolate.
This quality philosophy and innovative power is, after all, reflected by numerous awards. Every year since 2004, mkm chocolates have received gold and silver medals from the German Agriculture Association (Deutsche Landwirtschaftsgesellschaft/DLG). Three times in a row, mkm chocolate creations were awarded the “Sweetie” innovation prize endowed by the food retail trade’s “RUNDSCHAU” magazine.
